volume weight calculator for air cargo

Volume is used as a measure way for air cargo.  The volumetric weight of a shipment is a calculation that reflects the density of a package. A less dense item generally occupies more volume of space, in comparison to its actual weight. The volumetric or dimensional weight is calculated and compared with the actual weight of the shipment to ascertain which is greater; the higher weight is used to calculate the shipment cost. 

Calculation formula for volume（dimentional）weight 
FORMULA: ..CBM X 167KG/CBM = ....... KG

CBM=L x W x H

L= Lengh in meter (m)
W= Width in meter (m)
H= Height in meter (m)
If real weight is 100 kg but the volume ( dimentional) kg is 150,  Airline will calculate price as it is 150 kg shipment 
Real life Example for Airline dimensional weight:- how to proceed
Customer has a shipment in China: as follows
(L= 1.2 meters)  x  (W= 0.8 meters)  x  (H= 0.9 meters )
and weighs is 90kg,

QUESTION::    

 how many kg customer have to pay for this shipment? 

1 STEP: CALCULATE THE VOLUME (DIMENTIONAL) WEIGHT: (1.2M X 0.8M X 0.9M) X 167KG/CBM = 144.3KG

2 Step: COMPATR THE RESULT TO THE ACTUAL WEIGHT
90 kg and 144.3 kg, Airline accept that your shipment is 144.3 kg

ANSWER:      Airline accept that the shipment is 144.3kg
