Pillow Block Bearings is a kind of bearing unit that combines the rolling bearing with the bearing seat. In fact, it is a part of the outer spherical bearing of the deep groove ball bearing. The outer spherical bearing makes the outer diameter into a sphere and is installed with the bearing seat with a spherical inner hole.Easy to install, double structure sealing device, can work in harsh environment.Bearing housing is generally cast.The commonly used housing has the pillow blocks(P), the flange Units(F), the Tapped-hase Pillow Blocks(PA), the Oval Units(FL) ,the Flange Cartridge Units(FC) ,the Take-up Units(T) and so on, the first is suitable for the request equipment and the component simple occasions, for example is used in the agricultural machinery, the machinery or the construction machinery.

Materials

The performance and reliability of rolling bearings are greatly affected by the materials which the bearing components are made from.BXY bearing rings and balls are made of high quality of GCr15 vacuum-degassed bearing steel.Chemical composition of GCr15 bearing steel is basically equivalent to some representative bearing steel as the chart shown below.

Operating temperature

The bearings usually operate below the temperature of 120℃(the measuring temperature of the outer ring is 100℃).Grease life reduction has to be taken into account when the bearings continue to operate at a temperatuer above 70℃.The lowest operating temperature should not be lower than -10℃.

Mounting method of housings

The desired installation order is :first install the housing,then the shaft and bearing.The bearing units can be easily installed in principle at any place.However, in order to have a long service life, it is desired that the mounting base is flat and rigid.

The pillow block type and flange type housing are desired that the angle between the surface on which the housing is mounted and the shaft be maintained to a tolerance of ±2°.
