The grinding process is obtained by impacts and rolling between the linings and pebbles and the product during the drum rotation.
The ball mill is mainly composed of:
- Electric welded carbon steel cylindrical structure with three manholes and two mouths for the unloading with incorporated gate,
- Bottom reinforced by means of carbon steel sections,
- Special steel hubs and cast iron supports with self aligning double row barrel-roller bearings. The hubs are preliminary controlled by means of ultrasounds. After the welding operation, a stress relieving treatment will be done,
- One motorization system for the normal functioning, driven by means of a high power electrical motor, connected by a hydraulic joint and a set of trapezoidal belts to one of the inlet shaft extremities of parallel axis type gear motor. a second motorization system, foreseen for positioning, driven by means of a low power electrical motor, connected to one of the inlet shaft extremity of the a.m. gear reducer by a set of trapezoidal belts. The mill is complete with an electric board with automatic stopping device when the number of the revolutions programmed will be obtained.
