Alginate Oligosaccharide:

Alginate oligosaccharide(AOS) , whose degree of polymerization is from 2 to 20,  is an oligosaccharide consisting of α-L-guluronic acid (G) and β-D-mannuronic acid (M). It is derived from degrading algin which extracted from laminaria. 

AOS could supply Glucose and Mannose of the eighth essential sugars for human body, so it's very suitable to be added to health food.

Moreover, in view of Alginate Oligosaccharide's characteristics and bioactivities, it has  been wildly applied in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, foods, agriculture, feedstuffs, and cosmetics as a new nature functional ingredient.


Characteristics:

Alginate Oligosaccharides are yellow brown powder, with good water-soluble, easy absorbing, good stability, low viscosity, nature and non-toxic features.

Application in Food Industry:

1. As Functional Food Ingredient of Health Food

   AOS has the bioactivities of intestinal immune regulation, detoxification, lowering blood lipids and glucose, anticoagulation, anti-inflammation and Immune system regulation, can be used in health food for patients with obesity, diabetes, colorectal cancer, and habitual constipation.

2. As Functional Food Additive 

Nutrition Enhancer:

AOS could regulate intestinal microflora, and Enhances absorption of calcium , so it could be used in yogurt & milk power. Of course AOS could be used in Functional Beverages and Cookies of Loss Fat, Lower Cholesterol, Beauty, Remedy for constipation, and so on.

Food Antiseptic & Flavor Enhancer

  AOS could be applied as food antiseptic and flavor enhancer for seasonings, such as soy and sauces, to replace chemical preservatives, for example sodium benzoate.

Food Antioxidants

In view of AOSs anti-oxidation and antibacterial activities, it effectively inhibits the flesh browning of fruits and vegetables, meanwhile keep fresh to extend their shelf life
