Specifications: | Introduction: A revolutionary and environment friendly new product is now on the market, for substituting the materials traditionally used for gratings in reefer ship cargo holds. This new product, Bamboo Plywood, has a lot of advantages compared to the materials traditionally used for this purpose. First of all it offers a longer lifespan, i.e. longer intervals between renewal of the grating material, at the same, or even at a lower price than the material currently used. This new product is environmentally attractive because the material used for the production, Bamboo canes, has a very high re-growth rate, and the time between harvesting the canes is only 5 years, whereas the normally used forest wood has a re-growth period of 50 to 200 years. Furthermore, no tropical, rainforest sensitive wood is used for the production. Application: (In refrigerated cargo holds) Grating boards: Deck flooring Lining boards: Lining for insulation wall and ceiling, partition walls and side shoring. General information: Bamboo plywood is built up from bamboo veneers, which are having the following characteristics: 1. High elasticity and high bending strength in the fibre direction. 2. No bend and distortion against many years of use. 3. Small expansion rate compared to wood. 4. Specific gravity: 1,0 ¨C 1,1 (at a moisture content of 9 ¨C 11 %) 5. Bamboo plywood is superior to normal wood and steel or aluminum on most parameters. Bamboo Composition and construction: 1. Base material: Bamboo veneer 2. Gluing: Bonded by phenolic resin adhesive, which meets JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard). 3. Preservation of base veneer: Insect control, antirot and anti mold treatments are done by mixing the substances into the phenolic resin glue.
