Fiberglass Reinforced Sleeve for Directional Drilling
FRDK is a high performance fiberglass reinforced sleeve specifically designed for girth weld corrosion protection on pipes used in directional drilling applications.
Construction: three-layer system
First layer: liquid epoxy, solvent-free, two-component
Second layer: high shear strength hot-melt adhesive
Third layer: radiation cross-linked, high density polyethylene, fiber reinforced composite structure.
Additional component: Wear Cone as extra protection against pull-through forces, of the same construction as the main sleeve.
The FRDK system provides effective protection against abrasion and wear forces that occur during the pull-through operation. The system is fully compatible with cathodic protection systems, resists cathodic disbondment and is designed for a wide range of operating temperatures.
