In steel making with graphite electrode or aluminum, magnesium with anode paste, for the petroleum coke to adapt the requirements, calcined the coke, the temperature at 1300℃ or so commonly, in order to make its volatiles, water, impurities away as far as possible. Which can reduce the hydrogen content in petroleum coke products again, enhance its conductivity to produce high purity carbon material ,increase the degree of graphitization of petroleum coke ,so as to improve the high temperature strength and heat resistance of graphite electrode.

The calcined petroleum coke mainly for the production graphite electrode, carbon paste product, jingangsha, food-grade phosphate , metallurgical industry and calcium carbide industry ect, , one of the most widely used is graphite electrode.
