Product Description
Definision:
- Threaded self-taping insert is a fastener which has both outer diameter and internal diameter threads, as well as cutting bores or slots to perform the self-tapping action.
Application:
- The threaded self-tapping inserts are used on those base materials with low hardness and tensile strength, such as light alloys (aluminum, Magnesium, Zinc, and the alloys), cast irons, bronze, brass, thermoset plastics and plastic laminates and hard woods. The inserts can easily tap into the soft base materials to provide a strong internal thread or to repair the broken thread in the base material.
Advantages:
- The threades self-tapping inserts are widely used based on below advantages:
- Providing strong internal threads in the soft base material for times of maintenance and disassembly needs.
- Repair the broken internal threads in the base material efficiently and effectively.
- The self-tapping insert are planted into the base material after the casting, molding or other manufacture processing, thus ease the part design and manufacturing while improve the throughput.
- The threaded self-tapping inserts is capable of withstanding high loads, therefore thread and overall dimensions can be smaller for compact structure.
