Ceramic sanitary wares are the fixtures which comprise wash basins, shower plates, toilet bowls, bath tubs, and others. The basic raw materials which are used to form ceramics are naturally occurring components, such as kaolin, feldspar, ball clay, and quartz. Sanitary ware products are cost-efficient and easy to clean. Moreover, the characteristics of ceramics, such as corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and glossy surface prevent it to be replaced by alternatives such as steel and fiber. Sanitary wares have requirement in residential, commercial, and public areas. SANITARY WARE PRODUCTION: TRADITION AND INNOVATION

The basic ingredients for making ceramics have always been naturally occurring raw materials: Kaolinite, clay, feldspar and quartz sand form the basis for this extremely durable and hard material. The individual components of this malleable material are combined, homogenised and cleaned as part of a unique and very protracted process at DADATEC. The resulting slurry – the pourable starting material for ceramics – is poured into pre-prepared plaster moulds or shaped using a special pouring process developed at DADATEC.

The formability and pourability of the material allows the creation of a wide variety of sanitary ware products, but nevertheless always poses a manufacturing challenge, especially when creating objects with complex geometries. Dried and glazed blanks are then baked in a kiln at temperatures up to 1240°C. Such extreme kiln temperatures ensure the hardness and durability of our high-quality DADATEC products.

Ceramics, through their smooth, easy-to-clean surface, fulfil the highest hygiene standards – chemical acids, strong cleaning fluids or hydrochloric compounds hardly affect the material. Due its light fastness, versatility and pleasant appearance, ceramic is the most popular material used to manufacture high-quality sanitary fittings.

The water closet helped improve hygiene in many regions by moving human waste away from inhabited buildings and areas. A urinal is a sanitary plumbing fixture for urination only, predominantly used by males. It can take the form of a container or simply a wall, with drainage and automatic or manual flushing, or without flush water as is the case for waterless urinals.

The different types of urinals, be it for single users or as trough designs for multiple users, are intended to be utilized from a standing position (rather than squatting or sitting). A squat toilet (also known as a squatting toilet, Indian toilet, or Turkish toilet) is a toilet used by squatting, rather than sitting. There are several types of squat toilets, but they all consist essentially of toilet pan or bowl at floor level. Such a toilet pan is also called a "squatting pan". The only exception is a "pedestal" squat toilet, which is of the same height as a sitting toilet. It is in theory also possible to squat over sitting toilets, but this requires extra care to prevent accidents as they are not designed for squatting.

A squat toilet may use a water seal and therefore be a flush toilet, or it can be without a water seal and therefore be a dry toilet. The term "squat" only refers to the expected defecation posture and not any other aspects of toilet technology, such as whether it is water flushed or not.
