1.5mm self adhesive bitumen waterproofing tape
A self adhesive aluminium flashing tape coated with a thick layerof rubber-bitumen adhesive protected by a release paper, which is removed before application. For general protection of brick , concrete, metal etc.against weathering and corrosion.
This products can be used for general flashing applications, sealing glazing bars, sealing leaks in gutters, valleys, down pipes, capping, caravan seams and various corrugated and flat roofs. Also suitable for sealing roof lights and repairs to cracked glass.
USES:
An easy to use waterproof flashing tape which will stick to most surfaces.When pressed into place the adhesive backing forms a watertight seal. For repairs to guttering and downpipes, most types of roofing, replacement or repair of existing flashings, joints between brickwork and other materials, cracks in concrete. For sealing projections through roofs and skylights, valley guttering , roof ridges, chimney caps and waterproofing joints.
APPLICATION:
All surfaces must be smooth, clean, dry and dust free. Any loose matter must be removed with a wire brush. Porous or rough surfaces should be primed and allowed to dry.
Cut a section of Self adhesive bitumen flashing tape to the required length, remove the release paper and press down the adhesive bitumen to the previously prepared surface. Smooth gently into position using hand pressure only.
Using a roller or a piece of rounded wood smooth the tape to ensure good overall contact and expel any air, especially on overlaps and at edges.
When laying adjacent rolls, bitumen tape should be overlapped by a minimum of 25 min for a perfect watertight seal. The seam should be pressed firmly, but carefully, with a hand roller. pay particular attention at the point of overlap.
STORAGE:
The flashing tape should be stored below +35℃ in dry, well ventilated conditions, out of direct sunlight or other major sources of heat.
In cold conditions, below 15℃, warming surfaces and flashing maybe helpful. Always gently warm surfaces so that they are not too hot touch.Never warm the foil side of the flashing.
