chalcopyrite is brassy powder and is made by selected and curshed chalcopyrite ore. The main ingredient is  iron sulfide and copper sulphide.The hardness is 3.4 and density is between 4.1 g/cm3 and 4.38 g/cm3.The melting point of iron sulfide and copper sulphide are of 1193 centigrade and 1033

centigrade seperately. The main function of chalcopyrite is adjust the high temperature wear resistance and friction coefficient of friction materials.it is widely used in Brake pad and drum brake.And the recommended regular consumption is 2%—8%.

It is Known about 170 kinds of copper mineral in the nature, but only 20 kinds are of industry value. Copper has strong intimate sulphur,so

copper sulfide is in the majority. There are many kinds of copper mineral according the formation conditions and chemical composition.  For example:primary sulfide copper mineral such as chalcopyrite, secondary sulfide copper mineral such as chalcocite, copper oxide minerals such as malachite and natural copper, etc.

Copper is a good conductor, the electrical and thermal conductivity is only second to silver.It has good toughness, ductility and softness, is one of the most effective friction raw material and is widely used in the friction material industry.

It special help to improve the temperature coefficient of friction.It is needed to strictly control the dosage and particle size.The usual priticle size is of 325 mesh. And the negative impact increased when  the dosage is more than 5%.
