Benefits of Compost Turner Rather Than Fresh Manure in Agriculture

Research found that after three days of composting at 131 F, Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Listeria monocles were not detected. However, Salmonella still was detected after 28 days in the manure pack and lagoon simulations. Escherichia coli and Listeria monocytogenes were found in the lagoon after 14 days, and Listeria was not found after seven days in the bedded pack simulations.

Weed seeds and some bacteria (E. coli, )existing in fresh manure produced by human and animals can cause disaster for plants. But they can be killed in compost process, even fly eggs, by heat and high temperature. There is a news in Germany about E.coli in cucumber caused thousands of death fear the world. It is said that E.coli didn’t be killed in un-composted manure, and than grow in plants body by absorbing nutrients, and then follow cucumbers to human body. In fact, common E.coli is less harmful than this, but under certain condition, E.coli breed fast and in forms of variation which makes them much harmful than before.

3 Plants Prefer to Absorb Inorganic Salt Matters Than Organic Matters

Studies found that plants can absorb a large amount of inorganic matters from manure, hard to absorb organic matters. However, fresh, un-composted manure is almost full of organic matters. Microorganism play an important role to decompose these organic matter into inorganic salt for example N forms nutrients. Without active bad bacteria and weed seeds and even fly eggs, composted manure is favorite for plants growth.

The manure must be piled, the carbon-estrogen (C/N) ratio should be 30-to-1, 50 percent of the pore space should contain water and the pile must be aerobic (having oxygen).
