API 6D/BS 1868 Swing Check Valve
Check valves serve an important application—namely to prevent flow in one direction while allowing it in the other. A check valve is self-actuated and designed to prevent fluid from flowing back into the system (prevent reverse flow). Real-life applications include preventing backflow into an injection line or into a pump. The fluid flow opens the valve by forcing a disk or ball in one direction. When the flow stops, the disk or ball is seated and closes the valve.
They can be installed in horizontal or vertical upward flow piping. Check Valve Introduction:
Check valves indicates a kind of valves in which the valve disc is automatically opened by the pressure produced by the flowing of the medium itself, and closed by the reverse pressure or the weight of the valve disc, so as to make the fluid flow toward one direction.The check valves include different types such as swing type, lift type and tilting disc type.
