Sumstar flake ice machine working principle is the closed loop heat exchange of refrigerant. Outside water flow into the water tank, then pumped into the water distribution pan by water circulating pump. Driven by the reducer, the water in the pan evenly flows down the inner wall of evaporator. The refrigerant in the refrigeration system evaporates through the loop inside the evaporator and absorbs large amount of heat by exchanging heat with the water on the wall. As the result, the water flow over the surface of inner evaporator wall sharply cools down to below the freezing point and freezes into ice instantaneously. When the ice on the inner wall reaches a certain thickness, spiral ice blade driven by reducer cut the ice to piece. Thus ice flake forms and falls into the ice storage bin under ice machine, stocking for use. The water not turning into ice will drop in the water baffle at the bottom of evaporator and flow into the water tank for recycling.

Flake ice feature and application field:
Large contact area:
As its flat and thin shape, it has got the largest contact area among all types of ice. The larger its contact area is, the faster it cools other stuff. In comparison with 1 ton of cube ice, 1 ton of flake ice has 1799 sqm of contact area while 1 ton of cube ice only has 1383 sqm, therefore the flake ice has got much better cooling effects than cube ice.
Low cost of producing:
The producing of flake ice is very economical, it only requires 1.3RT refrigerating effect to make 1 ton of ice from 16C water.
Perfect in food cooling:
Flake ice is type of dry and crispy ice, it hardly forms any shape edges, in food cooling process,this nature has made it the best material for cooling, it can reduce the possibility of damage to food to the lowest rate.
Thoroughly mixing:
Flake ice can become water quickly through the rapid heat exchanging with products, and also supply the moisture for products to be cooled.
Convenient for delivery:
Because the flake ice fairly dry, it will not stick with others during delivery or storage.
Flake ice low temperature: -5℃~-8℃; Flake ice thickness: 1.8-2.5 mm, can be used directly for food fresh without ice crusher any more, saving cost, labor and time.

Aquatic appliance:
Fishing fresh: Ice is used in supermarket fresh stable and in restaurant for fresh of fish and other food.

Cooling slaughtered industry: In production of poultry slaughter, ice is for cooling poultry.

Railway hydropower projects: In the casting process of concrete elements in mass projects, the big temperature change in hydration can cause cracks. Every 10 kg ice can reduce 1.2-1.4 degree for one cubic concrete.
Ice storage appliance:
Building central air condition system: In many building, it’s a peak summer cooling, a electrical peak. With common air condition system, it’s easy to run at full capacity. And electricity price is high in daytime. Ice storage-ice melting system can release cold at daytime, form ice cold and store cold at night.
