The commodity name of polycarbonate (PC) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) blends or polycarbonate (PC) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) blends manufactured by our company. PC/PBT is a blend of PC and PBT, usually supplied in the form of pellets after blending. If you simply mix the two materials, direct injection molding, poor effect, will appear stratification. PC/PBT has comprehensive characteristics of both PC and PBT, such as high toughness and geometric stability of PC, chemical stability, thermal stability and lubrication characteristics of PBT.
The advantage of PC is that it is rigid and flexible at room temperature, but in the case of high temperature, hot deformation is serious. The disadvantages are stress cracking and high viscosity. Polyester (PBT) and polyester/polycarbonate alloy (PBT/PC), especially elastomer toughened PBT/PC alloy and PET/PC alloy are ideal materials for manufacturing automobile exterior trim, suitable for making automobile body plate, side guard board, fender board, door frame, etc.
