β-Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, Disodium Salt Hydrate, reduced form, is involved in a wide range of enzyme catalyzed oxidation reduction reactions such as glycolysis, beta-oxidation and the citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle, TCA cycle). Additionally, it acts in cell signaling events. One such example would be as a substrate for the poly (ADP-ribose) polymerases (PARPs) during the DNA damage response. It can also be used as a reagent to amplify detection of activity of biologically relevant enzymes or metabolites present in low concentrations. |
