Introduction
SMP-881,SMP (Silane-Modified Polymer) Sealant for Precast Buildings is one-component, paintable, eco-friendly, solvent-free It cures at room temperature and has excellent adhesion to most substrates. It is widely used in the sealing of exterior wall in precast buildings and the bonding of building materials.
Application areas
Usually, SMP-881 bonds well to the following substrates without primer: aluminum, stainless steel, coated steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder coated metal, painted metal, glass, PVC, GRP, coated or painted wood, etc.
Application instructions
Substrate surfaces must be clean and free of grease, dust etc. Use solvent to clean the surfaces when necessary. Wait until the surface is dry before use. Usually SMP-881 is applied without primer. For the substrates that primer is required by Adhesion Test, use a special brush to apply a thin layer of primer on the substrate surface. After it is cured, apply the sealant. Primer must be used again if sealant is not applied in 8 hours. Painting on the sealant can be done only when the sealant surface has hardened (usually 48 hours after application)
Safety advice
Keep out of reach of children. Do NOT contact uncured sealant with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do NOT contact uncured sealant with skin for long time. Application limitation Do NOT use in the unventilated place, for the sealant must react with the vapor in the air for curing. Do NOT use on the surface which is constantly wet. Do NOT use on the substrates which excrete grease, plasticizer or solvent. Not suitable to untreated PE, PP and PTFE plastics. Do NOT use when the surface temperature is lower than 4℃ or higher than 40℃. Conduct Adhesion Test on your substrates before application.
Shelf life 9 months after manufacture date (under 25℃, dry and well-ventilated environment.)
