The supply of refining slag can be divided into three forms: pre-melting, sintering and compound. To meet the needs of various steel development in varying degrees, the physical and chemical indexes should be adjusted reasonably to achieve the optimal purification effect of molten steel at the minimum cost. In the long-term practical use, the refining slag has the functions of desulfurization, deoxidization and submerged arc for molten steel. It does not produce the phenomenon of sulfur recovery, which makes the structure of steel products stable and improves the quality of steel products. It can be directly put into use without residual impurities to reduce power consumption during refining. The effect of slag washing is good and the effect of adsorbing inclusions is obvious.
Refining slag properties:
The main components of refining slag are calcium aluminate, alumina, silica, calcium fluoride, magnesium oxide, etc. These metal ions combine to form calcium oxide-calcium fluoride, calcium oxide-alumina, calcium oxide-alumina-silicon oxide matrix, thus forming a composite material, namely refining slag. Refining slag is a necessary additive for deoxidation and desulfurization in the refining process of iron and steel enterprises.
Refining slag characteristics:
1. Reasonable chemical composition is conducive to slagging as soon as possible and shortening smelting time.
2. Because of the fast slagging, the power consumption of refining time can be reduced.
3. Reduce the consumption of refractories and increase the ladle life.
4. It has good desulfurization and deoxidation effect.
5. Because of its low melting point, it can adsorb impurities well in ladle argon blowing and tapping process of electric furnace.
6. The ingredients are stable and uniform, and can be produced and packaged according to the user's requirements.

Refining slag has the advantages of homogeneous chemical composition, low melting point, fast melting speed, reducing refining power consumption and shortening refining time. It has attracted more and more attention of iron and steel enterprises and is one of the most important additives for steel-making.
The refined slag produced by our plant contains no impurities such as fluorine, hydrogen, nitrogen and carbon, which is conducive to improving the quality of steel products; does not absorb water and will not corrode the lining and ladle; has compact structure and is convenient for transportation and storage; the product itself has stable physical phase, fast slagging, and significantly reduces dust pollution in the steel plant. The extensive use of refining slag makes the current steelmaking enterprises change the production process of refining relying on high-alkali materials, Slag-steel mixing and desulfurization outside the furnace, which greatly improves the efficiency of iron and steel production and improves the quality and performance of finished steel products.
Refining slag use:
The refining slag is put into the ladle before tapping because the molten steel flows into the ladle from the upper level, which is caused by intense stirring between the molten steel and the refining slag, and the refining slag melts rapidly in the molten steel, then gathers and floats. Because of the strong reducibility of refining slag, it has a strong ability of deoxidization and desulfurization. It can remove oxygen and sulfur impurities in molten steel during the mixing process. At present, the desulfurization capacity of refining slag can reach more than 85%, which is an excellent additive for steelmaking.
