Because the fittings connect and disconnect quickly, this hose is often installed to temporarily replace sanitary hose during maintenance and cleaning cycles. The fittings are also known as tri-clamp fittings. They attach to other quick-clamp fittings with a gasket and a clamp. Braided stainless steel construction gives this hose moderate flexiblility and makes it tough enough to handle extreme temperatures, as well as vibration. Steam applications require a fluoroelastomer gasket.
