Chemical composition

Related prescriptions
①Treating pulmonary fever and hemoptysis: five coins of Sanguisorba, one tael of white sprout root, one tael of rock sugar. Take with water decoction.
②Treatment of tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis: sinew grass five coins to one tael. Decoction with water. Or four to five plants with fresh grass, add tofu, eat tofu and drink soup.
③Treatment of bruises and sprains: fresh herb with a small amount of ginger and onion, pounded and applied externally.

Native Form
Hairy-edged tendon grass is a perennial herb, 20-40 cm high. The rhizome is horizontal, shorter. Stem erect, square, purple, with white hairs, sparsely branched at upper end. Leaves opposite; stalked; lower leaves grate or scalelike, small-shaped; middle leaves ovate to broadly ovate, base broadly cuneate, stalk longer, winged, leaf margin coarsely serrate. Terminal spikes with leafy bracts between spikes; calyx 5-lobed; corolla purple, labellate, lower lip of corolla larger than upper lip, upper lip very inconspicuous; stamens 4, 2 strong. Nutlets rectangular-trigonous, with reticulate rugosity on back. Fl. in early summer. Mostly in wetlands or grasslands by water or under forests. Distributed in Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Hubei, Sichuan, Zhejiang, and other places.
