Heavy calcium carbonate, referred to as heavy calcium powder for short, is ground from natural carbonate minerals such as calcite, marble and limestone. It is a commonly used powdered inorganic filler. Generally, calcium carbonate contains more than 95% CaCO3. It has the advantages of high whiteness, low oil absorption, low refractive index, soft, dry, free of crystal water, and good dispersion. Heavy calcium carbonate is relatively stable in the air, but it is easy to agglomerate after long-term storage, so it needs to be stored in a dry environment. The commonly used fineness is 325 mesh, 400 mesh, 600 mesh, 800 mesh, 1250 mesh to 5000 mesh. It is widely used in dry paint, plastic, rubber, paper making, building materials and other industries.
