VSI crusher namely Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher, is normally used in the secondary or tertiary stage of a crushing process. It is usually used for making sands or aggregates for concrete and asphalt production. 

The impellers or shoes and anvils are the main wear parts on VSI. The impellers or shoes are rotating in a very high speed and throw the materials to the anvils. The impellers and anvils suffer severe impact and wearing during the process. 

VSI shoes are made of chrome white iron or with ceramic inserts used on vertical shaft impactor or sand making machine to reduce the size of rocks.
