Nitronic 60 is a high silicon, high manganese and nitrogen strengthened austenitic stainless steel alloy. Nitronic 60 is a multi-purpose metal, originally designed as a high-temperature alloy, so it has good high-temperature performance at a temperature of about 1800 F. Nitronic 60 is used in aerospace, food and medicine, oil field, petrochemical, surgical and chemical processing industries.
Nitronic 60 is a truly versatile metal. This all-austenitic alloy was originally designed as a high-temperature alloy, and then it has good high-temperature properties at a temperature of about 1800 F. The oxidation resistance of Nitronic 60 is similar to that of stainless steel 309SS, and far superior to that of stainless steel 304SS. This grade is famous for its abrasion resistance and abrasion resistance.
The addition of silicon and manganese makes the alloy a matrix, which can inhibit wear, wear and fretting wear even under annealing conditions. Higher strength can be obtained by cold working the material, and it is still completely austenitic after strict cold working. This processing will not enhance the wear resistance like carbon steel and some stainless steels. The advantages of cold working or hot working materials are that the strength and hardness are increased, and the wear resistance will not be significantly reduced. Adding chromium and nickel makes it as corrosive as 304 and 316 stainless steel, and at the same time it has about twice the yield strength. The high mechanical strength of the annealed parts allows a smaller cross section to be used to reduce the weight and reduce the cost by using thinner raw materials.
