Why Measure the Dew Point in Natural Gas?
1) The high content of water dew point in natural gas will corrode the pipeline and reduce the calorific value of natural gas;

2) Water has quality. Under high pressure, water and methane combine to form a hydrate similar to solid ice, which increases the cost of transportation and compressed natural gas;

3) Water condenses into ice when it is cold, which will block or damage pipes or valves; 

4) When making natural gas settlement, it is necessary to measure its water dew point and hydrocarbon dew point, and make settlement according to the combustion calorific value;

5) Since the dew point temperature of some hydrocarbons in natural gas is close to the regional temperature, in order to prevent the hydrocarbons in the pipeline from condensing due to the influence of the regional ambient temperature, it is mandatory by the state;

6) During the operation of gas-fired generators, when the dew point of natural gas hydrocarbons is too high, the fuel will be mixed, and hydrocarbon condensation will be formed indoors. These condensations are ignited in the gas mixing chamber, which will reduce the efficiency of the generator at least, and will explode at worst;

7）Distributing valve chamber–control the output direction of natural gas, and change the delivery pressure according to the destination environment by measuring the dew point temperature of natural gas;

8） Before gas transmission for urban pipelines, it is necessary to measure the dew point of natural gas, and adjust the pressure according to the local climate.
