The steam turbine generator set operates normally, but due to bearing friction, a portion of the work is consumed, which is converted into heat to increase the temperature of the lubricating oil in the bearings. If the oil temperature is too high, the bearings may soften, deform, or burn out. In order to ensure the normal operation of the bearing, the lubricating oil temperature must be maintained within a certain range. Generally, the inlet oil temperature of the bearing is required to be between 35-45 ℃, and the outlet oil temperature of the bearing is generally between 10-15 ℃. Therefore, the oil discharged from the bearing must be cooled before it can be recycled into the bearing for lubrication. The oil cooler is used to cool the lubricating oil of the main engine. The high-temperature lubricating oil and low-temperature cooling water exchange heat in the oil cooler, and the purpose of controlling the lubricating oil temperature is achieved by adjusting the cooling water flow rate (at the same time, due to the high rotor temperature, especially on the inlet side of the high-pressure cylinder, the journal also transfers heat outward, so the lubricating oil also has the function of cooling the journal).
YL type oil coolers are a commonly used oil cooling equipment in power systems, and lubricating oil must pass through the oil cooler before entering the bearings. The oil flows around the tube bundle ring and deflects inside the oil cooler shell, and the cooling water flows through the tube, taking away the heat generated by bearing friction, ensuring that the oil temperature entering the bearing is within the range of 40-46 ℃. The use of this device enables heat exchange between two liquid media, oil and water, with a certain temperature difference, thereby reducing oil temperature and ensuring the normal operation of power equipment. The YL type oil cooler is mainly used for the oil system of steam turbines, hydraulic station hydraulic oil cooling, equipment lubricating oil cooling, variable speed system oil cooling, and circulating cooling of oil systems of large fans, steam pumps, and coal mills. Suitable for departments such as power, metallurgy, chemical, mining, cement plants, etc.

YL type oil coolers can be classified into vertical, horizontal, or double horizontal according to their installation layout. The intermediate partition adopts the form of "bow shaped baffle" or "annular disc partition". The heat exchange tubes of the oil cooler are divided into stainless steel tubes and copper tubes according to their materials, and into light tubes and threaded tubes according to the form of the heat exchange tubes.
The YL type oil cooler has the characteristics of good cooling effect, outlet oil temperature close to water temperature, simple structure, easy operation, and small volume.
