The main functions of IGF1-LR3 (insulin-like growth factor-1 long-chain 3) include promoting cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation, inhibiting cell apoptosis, and enhancing biological activity. IGF1-LR3 is a long-chain analogue of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). By adding 13 amino acid residues at its N-terminus and replacing the third amino acid glutamic acid (E) with arginine (R), IGF1-LR3 significantly reduces its binding ability to IGF-1 binding protein, increases its free concentration, and enhances its biological activity
