INTROMET ITM-525 – PCB copper thickness gauge
General information
The INTROMET ITM-525 gauge is designed for non-destructive contactless in-process measurement of copper thickness in plated through-holes and copper foil on laminate. ITM-525 is used for in-process control to maintain high-quality PCB production.

The INTROMET ITM-525 utilizes eddy current principle of operation and consists of a basic unit and  a variety of probe sizes.
Basic Unit ITM-525
The ITM-525 basic unit is pocket size, battery powered device. It is adjustable for thicknesses of PCB, copper electrical conductivity, measuring units (m or mils), local time, and alarm. It stores readings and has USB downloading capabilities. Built-in functions include number of readings taken, min/max readings, mean value, standard deviation, range, Cp, Cpk and histogram.

Probes and cartridges ITM-525
Eddy current probes for through-holes are detachable, consisting of a probe holder with replaceable EP-25 and EP-30 plug-in cartridges. The EP-20 probe is not detachable. Probe tips are inserted into through-holes to take readings.
Due to the special construction of probe tips, cracks in the copper can be detected. Shortened probes EP-25S and EP-30S are available.
The CSP probe, intended for measuring thickness of copper laminate of unetched PCB, uses a four-point electrical resistance measuring principle and does not require copper surface cleaning.
