Swaged cartridge heaters manufactured by Durex Industries are an economical and durable source of heat for platens, plastic molds, dies, or liquid immersion applications.
The swaged construction embeds the nichrome resistance wire into high purity MgO insulation that allows the entire heater assembly to operate at temperatures in excess 1500°F. The swaged construction also provides optimum support for the entire element assembly allowing these cartridge heater designs to be used in applications, which are subject to high vibration or thermal shock.
Durex Industries manufactures cartridge heaters that are precision fit for all English or metric hole sizes used today. As the lead termination is typically the most important aspect of the heater design, a wide variety of options are available to suit most any application.
Custom design terminations are available for extremely difficult applications. Internal thermocouples are available for integral temperature control. Special features such as distributed wattage, custom mounting brackets, or exotic alloy sheaths are also available.
