管道電加熱器採用數顯溫度調節儀、固態繼電器和測溫元件組成測量、調節、控制迴路，在電加熱過程中測溫元件將管道電加熱器出口溫度電信號送至數顯溫度調節儀進行放大，比較后顯示測量溫度值，同時輸出信號到固態繼電器輸入端，從而控制加熱器，使控制櫃具有良好的控制精度和調節特性。利用聯鎖裝置可遠距離啟動、關閉管道電加熱器。

使用前首先檢查電源線、測溫元件輸出連線是否正確，控制櫃元器件、螺母是否鬆動損坏，如有異常及時擰緊或更換，確認無誤后可通電試車。主要步驟如下：

1. 合上水管道開關，電源指示燈亮，數顯表控制燈亮並顯示所測溫度指示值。
2. 溫度設定好之後，如無異常情況即可按下“加熱器工作”按鈕，交流接觸器吸合，固態繼電器進線端得電，由數顯控溫表所輸出PID信號控制加熱器工作。初次開機時，可能出現溫度過沖現象，但逐漸趨向恆定範圍之內。
