Benefits of LED light bulbs
Long-lasting - LED bulbs last up to 10 times as long as compact fluorescents, and far longer than typical incandescent.
Durable - since LEDs do not have a filament, they are not damaged under circumstances when a regular incandescent bulb would be broken. Because they are solid, LED bulbs hold up well to jarring and bumping.
Cool - these bulbs do not cause heat build-up; LEDs produce 3.4 btu's/hour, compared to 85 for incandescent bulbs. This also cuts down on air conditioning costs in the home.
Mercury-free - nomercury is used in the manufacturing of LEDs.
More efficient - LED light bulbs use only 2-10 watts of electricity (1/3rd to 1/30th of Incandescent or CFL) Small LED flashlight bulbs will extend battery life 10 to 15 times longer than with incandescent bulbs. Also, because these bulbs last for years, energy is saved in maintenance and replacement costs. For example, many cities in the US are replacing their incandescent traffic lights with LED arrays because the electricity costs can be reduced by 80% or more.
Cost-effective - although LEDs are expensive, the cost is recouped over time and in battery savings. For the AC bulbs and large cluster arrays, the best value comes from commercial use where maintenance and replacement costs are expensive.
Light for remote areas - because of the low power requirement for LEDs, using solar panels becomes more practical and less expensive than running an electric line or using a generator for lighting.
Led lighting instantly achieves full brightness with no warm up time - Fluorescent lights are dim when first turned on, and get brighter as they warm up. Depending on the temperature and the age of the lamp, they can take a long time to warm up. If it is cold enough they will not warm up at all. Led lights always start at full brightness.
Led lighting does not produce any ultraviolet (UV) light - Led lights emit no damaging ultraviolet light, so they will not cause fading and aging of artwork or other sensitive materials. Fluorescent and halogen lights can cause significant damage over time.
Led lighting saves on bulb replacement - Led bulbs can operate for 30,000 hours or more. One led light bulb can easily outlast 30 incandescent bulbs, or 6 compact fluorescents! Led bulbs cost less than the bulbs they replace. Operating 8 hours per day, led light bulbs can last 10 years or more!
Led light bulbs are less sensitive to shock, vibration, and the extreme temperature changes that can quickly ruin fragile incandescent bulbs. And unlike fluorescent bulbs which wear out much faster if they are frequently turned on and off, led bulbs are not affected by frequent on-off switching.
The long life of led light bulbs reduce the time, effort and cost of replacement.
Led lighting increases safety and security - The high reliability of led lights increases safety and security. There is no waiting for led light bulbs to warm up. Led bulbs light up instantly at full brightness, even in the coldest weather.
Led lights are safer - Led bulbs operate at much lower temperatures. Halogen and incandescent lights are hot enough to cause fire, and they frequently do.
Robust & Shock Resistant - LEDs are solid state devices which have no filaments or glass tubes to break.
Low Voltage
LEDs can operate from as little as 5 volts but can easily be configured to work from a wide range of voltages to suit specific designs or available power supplies.
No Color Fade - An LED is designed to emit a specific wavelength of light. This is defined in the LED manufacturing process; they do not rely on colored filters or gels to produce a specific color which could fade over time.
Fit and Forget - LED’s are low maintenance devices and require no servicing during their life.
Simple Installation- LED’s don’t require any special driver circuits, starters, chokes or inverters to operate. They are fully dimmable and can be controlled with simple electronics.
Wide Range of Colors - The basic LED colors are Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange and White. Within each color we can offer a range of shades.
Slim-line Design - LEDs are physically smaller than many traditional light sources and allow unobtrusive slim-line designs to be made.
