101 and 201 Static Dischargers
Our industrial static dischargers are highly efficient
anti-static tools which are used to neutralise sheets
and webs throughout industry.
They are chosen by thousands of industrial companies
for their efficiency, low cost and ease of installation.
They are available in two body styles – models 101 and
201 – and a choice of fibres and fibre lengths.
Operation
Static dischargers are also called “anti-static brushes” which s ests that the fibres touch the material. This is
not the case. The fibre tips should be 5 – 10mm from the product.
They concentrate the electric field in the static charge to produce ionised air in the gap between the fibre tips and
the material. Ionised air allows the exchange of ions which neutralises the charge.
Static dischargers are very effective at reducing high charges to a low level. They are particularly suited to high
speed applications.
Model 101
Model 101 is the most popular style for general industrial use.
The 2mm extruded aluminium walls give it physical strength
and rigidity. It is available in any length up to 4m.
Fixing holes can be drilled in the single wall upright of the “h” body.
Model 201
Model 201 has a 9.5mm x 9.5mm square body with M4 fixing studs 10mm
from each end and in the middle for lengths above 1m.
It is not as rigid as the 101. It is available in lengths up to 3m.
Hazardous Areas
Model 101 is available in a solvent resistant version for use in hazardous areas such as coating,
laminating and gravure printing.

Models 101 and 201 have the same fibre options.
Fibre Options
There is a choice of carbon or conductive acrylic fibre. Both are soft and non-abrasive. The standard fibre
length is 18mm. Optional lengths are 30mm, 50mm and 80mm.
Carbon Fibre: This is the most popular fibre. It provides the best neutralisation at the lowest price.
The carbon fibre has a density of 60,000 x 6/7μ filaments per cm.
Acrylic: Conductive acrylic is a new fibre which is soft and resilient.
It is not as powerful as carbon, but is washable.
