Silicone rubber cord can be used for many purposes ,such as 

masking of slots and recesses in components ,during powder coating

and other finishing processes,it also makes an excellent gasket or 

seal around oven doors ,or other high temperature applications ,when 

used to mask slots ,the silicone cord is stretched,which reduces its 

diameter,then placed into te slot to be masked,and the tension removed

it then springs back to it's original size to fill the slot,Alternatively,

it can be pushed into the slot,this method can be used if the slot is 

circular,after processing ,the cord is simply pulled out of the slot ,

Any coating build up can be removed by light abrasion ,or rumbing ,a 

size larger than the slot to be masked should be specified ,to ensure

a snug fit .
