Galfan gabion is a kind of galfan coated steel double twisted woven mesh gabion product. Galfan offers a more homogenous, ductile and smoother coating than galvanized zinc. The result is that the galfan is less affected by abrasion. Galfan coating offers up to 3 times better corrosion protection than standard zinc coating in salt spray test, and up to 2 times better corrosion protection than standard zinc coating in atmosphere test. Meantime compare with standard galvanized coating, galfan coating offers better sacrificial protection. Galfan gabion uses the same wire diameter or gauge as the galvanized gabion. In corrosive environments, it used less steel wires than galvanized gabion and PVC coated gabion. The longevity of the galfan gabion should be considered more when in a corrosive environment. Therefore it is widely utilized when corrosion is the predominant factor.
