Introduction
Foam-filled fender (ball) is used to provide buffer and protection to the ships and widely used in ships, ocean platform, offshore facilities, wharf and yachts etc. As buffer of STS or STD berthing, the foam filled fender could absorb impact energy of ships and reduce reactive force and greatly improve safety of berthing.
The foam filled fender has the same structural technology as inflatable rubber ball except that the foam filled fender is solid fender in which is the closed pore PE foam core. The fender surface is painted with polyurethane elastomer. PE foam could effectively absorb impact force while external polyurethane could withstand abrasion and tearing caused by external environment.
Successes
ultra-tough, unsinkable design
wide range of standard and custom sizes
low reaction and high energy options
low hull pressure
maintains safe stand-off distances
low maintenance
fully compliant with Navy specifications
operate floating or suspended
virtually indestructible
Non-marking even against white hulls
