The triple gang consolidation apparatus is used to determine the soil compression characteristics, then calculate the soil unit deposition, compression index, rebound index, and consolidation efficient.

1. Applying pressure:

Low pressure: 12.5kPa/800kPa/30cm2, 12.5kPa/400kPa/50cm2

Middle pressure: 12.5kPa/1600kPa/30cm2, 12.5kPa/800kPa/50cm2

High pressure: 4000kPa/30cm2, 2000kPa/50cm2  

2. Loading lever ratio: 12:1(low/middle pressure, 20:1, 24:1(high pressure)
