Reference Formula

Due to asbestos is toxic, it can cause environment pollution and effects health of human. Comparison with Asbestos, calcium sulphate whisker(hereinafter called as CSW) is a kind of fine short fiber, not only has the advantages of high strength, high modulus, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, good toughness, good fluidity, easy to compose with polymer ( strong affinity ) etc., but also CSW is non-toxicity, low cost (only first three hundreds of silicon carbide whisker), the surface hardness is low ( whisker is relatively soft, does not damage the counterpart ), and no fatigue effect ( even if be ground into a powder, cutting, the intensity will suffer no loss ).Therefore, as a substitute for asbestos friction materials, this whisker is the ideal friendly environment protection strengthening and toughening auxiliary agent. Moreover, this new inorganic whisker has competitive price and good quality among all whisker range.

Example 1: Calcium Sulfate Whisker applications on train brake shoe

Formula: Brake shoe is pressed to product by mixing the bonding agent (rubber, phenolic resin, polyimide and heat-resistant polymers), friction components, lubrication components, calcium sulphate whisker, fillers and so on.

Effect: Light weight, wear resistance, stable friction coefficient, lower noise and without creating sparks when braking, low Wear and tear rate, long service life, without pollution to environment (not contain hazardous impurities like asbestos, Lead metal, etc.)

Modified by calcium sulfate whisker, high resistant synthetic brake shoe certainly is going to have widely application in the railway.

 

Example 2: Calcium Sulphate Whisker applications in the production of friction materials

Formula: Calcium sulphate whisker is a substitute of asbestos.

Effect: Because of CSW is Innocuous and substitutes of Asbestos, by adding this materials friction materials have not only friction coefficient even between 100 ~ 200°C, low wear and rear rate, and green environmental protection. Particularly it is suitable for the production of car friction disk.
