This is a four mecanum wheels drive mobile robotic platform/kit. The four mecanum wheels give the mobile robotic platform/kit autonomous omni-directional capabilities, while regular wheels don’t. Each wheel is connected to a separate motor with independent control. The robot can move forward, backward and turn like it would with four regular wheels. The configuration of rollers at 45° also allows the robot to translate sideways, and through a combination of movements, drive in any direction – even while spinning.
Furthermore, this robot kit is programmed in C, C++ programming language. It provided the sample codes so that you can program via an easy-to-use arduino user interface, and easy access to programming functions. It enables researchers, developers and robotics students to write their own software, learn from others accomplishments and configure the hardware as required and desired.
Also, there are some pre-drilled screw holes on the firmly aluminum chassis to make extensions easily. Therefore, it could be extended equipments as you like, such as cameras, lap-top, art-ware or a micro robot arm, etc. Also, it is convenient to mount the aluminum extrusions for extensions with the pre-drilled screw holes.
Last but not least, this mecanum wheel mobile robotic not only operates on flat hard surfaces, but also perform very well on rough terrains or complex rough terrains.
