The product is realized of expanded perlite wrapped in a triple-layer polyethylene impermeable fabric, mass colored, black on the inside and white on the outside.
Dimensions: 1000 mm x 270 mm x 120 mm
Volume: 0,026 cubic meters (26 L)
The cultivation technology in perlite ensures harvests up to 5 or 6 times bigger than the cultures realized on natural soil.
The plants are seeded or planted in grow bags fed by specific ferti-rrigation installations, where they shall develop up to their maturity.
After harvesting the hydroponics grow bags is replaced (some cultures allow the reuse for 3-5 years).
After the removal of the culture the content of the grow bags (the expanded rooted perlite) can be distributed
without any ecological impediment, on the open or covered agricultural fields, for the improvement of the soil
quality.
Special qualities of perlite grow bags: A higher capillarity ensuring a constant optimal humidity around the roots.
- The insurance of a higher ventilation of the roots in contrast with the stone wool which is filled with water more than 85% remaining therefore very little space for the air necessary to the development of the roots.
- It ensures a constant humidity in contrast to the stone wool where the humidity fluctuates from too moist (after wetting) to too fry (before the wetting)
These properties lead to bigger productions on the perlite substrate than on the stone wool substrate
(e.g.: the tomato production is approximately 7-10 % bigger).
