Ammonium sulphate-(NH4)2SO4

 

1. Properties

Colorless crystals or white granules. Odorless. Decompose above 280 ℃.

Solubility in water: 0℃ at 41.22g, 25℃ at 43.47g, 100℃ at 50.42g.  Insoluble in ethanol and acetone.  0.1mol / L aqueous solution of pH 5.5.  The relative density of 1.77.  Refractive index 1.521. Low toxicity, median lethal dose (rat, oral) 3000mG/kG. Irritant. Ammonium sulfate is mainly used as fertilizer, suitable for a variety of soils and crops. Can also be used in textile, leather, medicine and so on.

3. Storage

Store in a cool, dry, ventilated warehouse, is strictly prohibited to store with lime, cement and other alkaline substances. Forbidden to transport when sun and rain, to prevent the bags damaged.

4. Function and use
An excellent fertilizer for the soil and crops in general, make the foliage, vigorous growth, improve fruit quality and yield, strengthen crop resistance to disasters, can be used as base fertilizer, top dressing, and kind of fat.

2NH3.H2O+ SO2-----> (NH4)2SO4
