Membrane separation technique employs the principle that different gases have different dissolution and diffusion coefficient in the membrane to realize the separation of mixed gas. Under the action of pressure difference (the driving force) between two sides of the membrane, gases with fast permeation rate like Oxygen, vapor, Hydrogen, Carbon dioxide will gather at permeative side after penetrating the membrane, gases with slow permeation rate like Nitrogen, Argon will gather at the retentive side. Therefore, the mixed gas is separated. Based on this principle, membrane separation N2 plant (Nitrogen generator) takes clean compressed air as raw material to get the purified Nitrogen that is needed.
