1.Introduction

Silica Fume ia also called Micro silica, it is a very fine pozzolanic material, composed of amorphous silica produced by electric arc furnaces as a by-product of the production of elemental silicon or ferro silicon alloys. This micro silica used in refractory has a minimum of 94% content of silica, and this undensified micro silica reaches national first grade standard,80% of granularity is less than 0.1 um with a maximum of 0.3 um.

2.Application

Microsilica in refractory is a highly effective pozzolanic material, the functions of adding microsilica are as follow:

Enhancing the fluid of pouring refractory.
Reducing the volume of used water.
Be easy to shape.
Raising the production efficiency.
Rising the compact and intensity of refractory.
Enhance elevated temperature strength and thermal shock of refractory.
