The main or popular stainless steel material is not so much as the carbon steel grades, they are divided into three series, 200 series, 300 series and 400 series.

The main grades in 200 series are : stainless steel 201 and stainless steel 202. In The official American standard, the Ni content is 3-4%. This is much different from the actual market situation, in china, the best 200 series manufacture is LISCO. And the Ni content is min 1%, 202 is min 2% .

The main material of stainless steel 300 series are : 304, 304L, 309, 309S, 309H, 310, 310S , 316, 316L, 317, 317L, 321.

The main material of stainless steel 400 series are : 409, 410 and 430. Ni content in 400 series stainless steel is not so high as 300 series stainless steel, but it have very good heat-resistant performance because of it’s Cr content.
