Property: It shows white crystalline with the shapes in columnar, acicular, powdery or yellow and white flake, bitter tastes and soluble in water and ethanol.

Applications of Magnesium Chloride
1. Metallurgical Industry: It is used as adhesives in the manufacture of refractory and bricks the furnace wall; it is also the raw materials of producing II flux and smelting magnesium metal.
2. Chemical Industry: It is mainly used for the production of various magnesium salts, such as magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate, firecrackers fixing agent, disinfectants and chilled brine etc. It is used to fill the fabric and paper and it is the raw materials to produce the antifreeze as well.
3. Building Materials: The hard and corrosion resistant magnesia cement is made of magnesium chloride and magnesium oxide (magnesia MgO) which can be made of artificial marble, dolomite tile , floors, ceilings, decorative panels, fire proof plates, ventilation ducts, greenhouses bracket, wall panels, Magnesite manholes, bathtub, door frames, solar cookers , biogas digesters, ceramics, animal houses, granary, abrasive, stoves, table tennis, magnesium wind pipe, cable tray , light rail pillow, flower stand, magnesite crafts and portable house etc.
4. Machinery Industry: the magnesite can be produced of mechanical packing, triangular prism and furnitures etc.
5. Food Industry: The magnesite can be used in producing of bean curd or Tofu and part of the food additive.
6. Transport Industry: It can be used for road as the snow melting agent and has the faster deicing effect and less corrosive to the vehicles compared with the sodium chloride.
7. Medical Industry: It can be used for medicinal purposes.
8. Agriculture: It is used as the magnesium fertilizer, potassium and magnesium fertilizer and cotton defoliant.
9. Fire Department: It can be used for producing of the flame retardants. The timbers and panels are soaked in the brine can greatly improve the flame retardance and decrease the fuming of the woods. Also can be used for the fire proof materials as the fillers.
