Range of application

This product is suitable to the heavy-load soft starting of wound rotor asynchronous motor（3 phases AC 50HZ, rated voltage 380V~10kV, rated power 75Kw~10000kW）, especially in industrial or mine companies with unstable or lower voltage.

Operating principle

For wound rotor asynchronous motor, when the grid voltage and frequency are invariant, the connection of a starting resistor（whose resistance reduced as the rotation speed increases）to the rotor loop will for one thing, reduce the starting current, for another thing, get a larger starting torque. WYQ8 series liquid starter utilizes this principle: putting some special compound electrolyte into the rotor loop of the controlled winding motor as the liquid resistance, when the starter receives the signal of motor starting, a small motor will move to change the location of the electrolyte, so as to reduce the resistance value gradually. When the resistance reaches the minimum, the stars short-circuit contactor closes, the motor rotor star connected directly, by now, the equipment is started smoothly with a low current, large torque.

Performance characteristics

The cabinet and water tank adopt a full-closed structure, which can avoid evaporating of the electrolyte, lengthen the equipment’s working life and reduce the maintaining frequency.

The equipment is especially suitable to be long time used in climate of less than 200mm raining yearly.

With a cycle pump, there is a unique automatic cycle cooling system designed for this product, which can release the heat in the tank in a very short time.

The equipment is especially suitable to be started for several times in certain time range.

This equipment adopts worm gear and worm lifter as the transformation tool, which is stable, reliable and noiseless.

This equipment performs much better than frequency-sensitive resistance starter, cast-iron resistance starter and oil resistance starter, etc.

Low starting current: the starting current is within 1.3 times of the motor rated current.

It can be started continuously for 5~10 times.

It is started smoothly, which means no mechanic pulse on the machine and a longer working life of both equipment and motor.

It can be started under lower voltage, which means a successfully starting less than 5.5 kV when the motor voltage is 6 kV, less than 340V when the motor is 380V.

This equipment has fine, reliable cabinet structure, which is wholly automatically operated and convenient to be installed and maintained.
