Mixed butyl acetate (M-BAC) is a solvent, which shares similar application and property with Normal butyl acetate (N-BAC), but cheaper than the latter one.

It contains several kinds of esters and a little of alcohols, which is used in dissolving nitro-cotton better than N-BAC in woodenware coatings. While in manufacturing the thinner, M-BAC enjoys the same use with N-BAC. Furthermore, because of 17%-22% of pentyl acetate, M-BAC bears more flagrant flavor than N-BAC. That is why Engineers prefer to use M-BAC more in thinner. It has been tested and already used by Chinese domestic paint manufacturers for many years, such as Huarun paint, Carpoly paint and Akzo Nobel.
