Properties

Easily soluble in water. Aqueous solution appears acid. Insoluble in alcohol, acetone and ammonia. Easily deliquescent and volatilized in the air. Slight odor of ammonia.

Ammonium sulfate is mainly used as fertilizer,used in the synthesis of bactericides, water treatment agents,bleaching agents,anti-oxidant,

selective herbicides etc.
