Plastic optical fiber (POF) (or Polymer optical fiber) is an optical fiber which is made out of plastic. Traditionally PMMA(acrylic) is the core material, and fluorinated polymers are the cladding material. We stock several types and sizes of Polymer (PMMA) Optical Fiber and solid core light guide, including: end emitting fiber, side emitting fiber, multi-strand end glow fiber, multi-strand side glow fiber, solid side glow fiber, sheathed fiber and sparkle fiber

Sparkle fiber, this is side glow fiber which has been cracked to create "bright spots" along its length. PMMA sparkle fiber cable is clad with clear PVC cover for UV protection. Fiber cable is available from diameter 1.2mm to 4.0mm. It is widely used in the decorative application such as fiber optic curtains, chandeliers, "sensory kits", backdrops, decorative features, stairwell, walls or ceilings.
