Cross Laid Wire Rope- The element wires of different layers cross each other at points (Point-contact).

Features:-

• In addition to the center wires, the wire diameter of each layer is equal.
• Because small area of contact leaves relatively large spaces between wires, wires are easy to have a large relative sliding and can break easily, especially when the ropes have to bend a lot around the drum or pulley, fatigued from primary and secondary bending.
• Layered twist forming.
• Very flexible, and widely used in making rope slings that are subject to bending fatigue.
