Slip rings also called rotary electrical interfaces, rotating electrical connectors, collectors, swivels or rotating electrical connectors, are commonly found in electrical generators for AC systems and alternators and in packaging machinery, cable reels, wind turbines.

 

Slip rings can be used in any electromechanical system that requires unrestrained, continuous rotation while transferring power or data from a stationary to a rotation structure.
