The alloy is recommended for using at the elevated temperatures in the reducing and oxidizing conditions. It inhibits the stress corrosion cracking.

The Monel 400 sheet offers significant resistance to the extensive range of corrosive conditions as mentioned above but it is not suitable to use in the oxidizing conditions like nitric acid and nitrous acid. It is cheap and has good mechanical character.
